Junior Player Club Mission
To provide an opportunity for Boys and Girls  between the ages of 6 and 17 to  learn the Game of Golf in a safe and fun neighborhood environment.

 

General Information
Reunion Country Club is pleased to bring The Junior Players Club program to our Residents, Members  and area youth.  The JPC offers an opportunity to experience Golf at the grass roots neighborhood level.   Our program meets the need for  for Coaching and Player development with a solid year-round "Kid Friendly" instructional program.

The JPC program teaches; The Rules of Golf, The History of Golf and the  principles of Honor and Integrity that come from playing Golf.  Juniors learn in a fun format with others of the same age and ability level.  Each Session has scheduled play days and other fun activities that allow each Junior to demonstrate his or her newly learned skills.   Parents are welcome at all classes and encouraged to take their Junior Golfer to play and practice on the off week during session.   Families can form lasting memories from time spent together on our beautiful Reunion Golf Course.


Our class time is split between short game and the full swing. Skill drills are used to stimulate progress and instill confidence. The JPC program is based on teaching solid golf fundamentals:
Grip - Stance - Alignment - Posture- Ball Position - Back Swing - Through Swing

Learning the fundamentals of golf at an early age will provide years of enjoyment. We stress that your brain is your best tool. Thinking properly and sizing up each situation is great training for golf, school and the rest of life.

 

 

 

 
Instruction Format
Age and Skill Groups
The Junior Players Club classes are broken down into age appropriate and level of ability groups of no more that 8 Juniors. Girls may choose to attend any group or the Girl’s only group.
 
Tournament Players group is our most accomplished and is formatted for those Juniors wanting to play High School or competitive Golf. Ages are 11– 17 Years.

Junior Players group is designed for Juniors that have been exposed to Golf and have a desire to learn more. Junior Players will have two groups; intermediate and beginner. Ages are 8-12 years.

Kidz-Golf group is our most inexperienced group. Ages are 6-8 years.

What to Wear
JPC Members must wear the provided shirt and hat when attending group lessons. Proper golf attire must be worn when practicing or playing on club grounds. Tennis shoes are required for Juniors under the age of 8. Juniors may wear spikeless golf shoes with JPC approval. Regular golf shoes may be worn after Juniors understand the damage that can be done to the greens by dragging their feet.

Equipment Requirements
Students are not required to have equipment when they start. The JPC has demo equipment, furnished by U.S. Kids Golf. Parents are encouraged to purchase equipment but only after proper fitting.


Program Details
This Spring we will offer classes for Juniors between the ages of 6 and 17 years.  Because we have been away from Reunion for several years, we are faced with several unknowns; quantity and ability level of Juniors that will sign up.  We will change to a bi-weekly class schedule to ease the strain on the facility that we felt in the past.  We will split our Juniors into two groups that will come to class on alternating weekends.   Each Junior will also receive a private  30 minute video lesson to help with individual growth.  We will also offer Play time for Parents and Juniors at reduced rates on weekends that the Juniors are not in class.
